Zack sits at the kitchen table singing "Uzbekistan" to himself over and over again. I ask, "Zack, why are you thinking about Uzbekistan? We haven't been there for a long time." Zack replies, "Where were we again...this summer?"
I answer, "Tajikstan and Kyrgyzstan."
Zack immediately starts a new song, "Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and London, oh yeah!"
This is my 4-year old--- who at the age of 3 told our friends,
"I'm from Zack-i-stan" (Kazakhstan).
Some kids his age have trouble being understood, but our world-traveling Kazakh-American boy can clearly recite the names of the Central Asian republics.
Wonders never cease.
