Update on Tajikistan Humanitarian Crisis

I just spent the morning with my friend from Tajikistan who now lives here. I asked whether her family/friends in Tajikistan are all okay. The crisis there continues. Record low temperatures have caused pipes and rivers to freeze resulting in an already-poor country that now has no heat, water or electricity. Babies and the elderly are reported to be dying. Humanitarian aid, according to the newspapers, has already begun to pour in.

My friend said, "Humanitarian aid? It's already for sale in the bazaars! Humanitarian aid will not help my country. Only when people change will my country be helped." Please pray for the men, women and children and especially for the leaders of this beautiful country.
